Fresh Eggs, did you know they arrive in a clutch?

As if 24 hours at Malekahana beach on Oahu wasn’t enough, the Cooke's beach house left me with an unexpected gift: a clutch of eggs.
On Saturday we arrived to an incredibly sunny beach, with shade from the trees and ocean breezes to make it perfectly comfortable. After a day of lazing and chatting, I enjoyed dinner with many friends and had a star gazing night cap of dark and stormies. In the morning we took our time packing up all the left overs (always too many) and after taking out the trash I was awarded with more food to bring home than I could have ever planned for. Surprisingly there was an entire dozen eggs under the lid of the garbage can that had been blown to the side. The poor hen was nesting them when I went back to take a second look (and collect the booty). While I was trying to get a good photo, she squauked off into the bushes. I wish I'd had the video to capture the noises that came out of the chicken! What kind mother is she?!? well the kind that left me a dozen eggs to eat for the week!
